Changelog

What changed, and when.

Last change 18 October 2026

New data, new features and fixes, newest first. Nothing is removed or changed incompatibly without notice: deprecations appear here first, at least 12 months before their sunset date, as the versioning and deprecation policy says.

  • NewVersioning and deprecation policy, and this changelog

Nothing in /v1 is removed or changed incompatibly without at least 12 months' notice. Deprecated endpoints and parameters will answer with Deprecation and Sunset headers and a link to the policy, the API spec marks them, and the Python and JS clients warn you. Changes are announced here first.

  • New dataEnergy data from the EIA, NVE and the CFTC

The EIA Short-Term Energy Outlook (21 monthly forecast variables, from oil and gas prices to production and stocks, labelled as agency projections), NVE's weekly reservoir statistics for Norway and the CFTC Commitments of Traders report, each with its release calendar.

  • NewAgency projections in the forecast layer

Forecasts now include projections that agencies publish themselves, such as the EIA's outlook, marked as agency projections and kept apart from survey consensus and official figures.

  • FixedRelease calendars pick up new releases right after an update

When we add a release to an agency's calendar, its upcoming dates now appear as soon as the update is live, without waiting for the agency to change its calendar file. Gaps in release coverage are flagged automatically.

  • New dataEuro area and EU activity indicators from Eurostat

GDP (preliminary flash, flash and regular estimate), monthly unemployment, retail trade, industrial production, industrial producer prices and international trade in goods, for the euro area and the EU, with the large member countries alongside.

  • New dataMore from Statistics Canada and the ABS

Canada's monthly GDP by industry, retail trade and merchandise trade, with the published monthly changes and advance estimates. Australia's household spending, goods trade, Wage Price Index and national accounts, read from the release workbooks the moment they are published.

  • New dataUK monthly GDP and retail sales, Tokyo CPI, Empire State survey

ONS monthly GDP and Great Britain retail sales, the Tokyo ward-area CPI from the Statistics Bureau of Japan and the New York Fed's Empire State Manufacturing Survey. UK CPI now has a fast headline stage.

  • New dataNordic depth from Statistics Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway

Labour force surveys, GDP (quarterly and monthly indicators), industrial production, retail trade, producer prices, house prices, trade and balance of payments, and registered unemployment, with headline stages that poll the statistics pages at release time.

  • NewEvery release independently verified after it goes live

Minutes after a release is published we check it against independent paths (the agency's own fast file, official mirrors, the press release). Releases carry a state (published, verified, disputed, corrected) on REST, the stream and webhooks, and GET /v1/releases/{id}/verification shows which checks agreed.

  • NewReconnecting streams replay what you missed

A WebSocket or SSE client that reconnects with its last event id gets the events it missed (up to 15 minutes), then the live feed. Anything that cannot be replayed is announced with resync_required, never a silent gap.

  • NewPersonal watchlist

Pick the series you care about once and follow them in the app, on a live session stream or by webhook.

  • FixedWebhook retries follow your subscription

A retry now goes to the subscription's current URL and secret, and stops if you deleted or disabled it.

  • ChangedEvery error is JSON, and bad parameters are refused

Errors always use the JSON error envelope, including unknown routes and malformed bodies. Invalid dates, values outside a list and page sizes beyond the maximum now answer 400 with a message that says how to fix the request, instead of being clamped or ignored.

  • NewCSV and Excel output

Observations, latest values, releases and the calendar can be fetched as CSV or XLSX with format=csv or format=xlsx, with the licence notices inside the file.

  • NewTransforms on observations

transform= gives changes, percent changes and annualised rates (the FRED unit codes), computed exactly and point in time, always labelled as computed by econfeed and never mixed with official figures.

  • NewForecasts and surprises next to releases

Open forecasts (Riksbank, the BCB Focus survey) are attached to upcoming calendar entries and to releases, with the surprise against the published figure, labelled by publisher.

  • NewCorrections log

Every superseding version says why: an agency revision or an econfeed correction. GET /v1/corrections and the public corrections page list every time we fixed a value we had served.

  • ChangedPublished latency measures delivery

Speed figures now run from the agency's official release time to the first delivery to a customer, and releases delayed by an agency's own quiet window are listed apart.

  • NewBulk export

Nightly Parquet and gzip CSV snapshots per source with full history and every vintage, from GET /v1/bulk and the clients.

  • NewJavaScript and R clients

econfeed-client for JavaScript and TypeScript (Node, browsers, Workers) and econfeedr for R, alongside the Python client, all keeping published digits exact.

  • NewRelease calendar with change alerts

One calendar of releases, rate decisions and central-bank communications with exact times and importance, a log of reschedules and cancellations, and reminders by webhook or stream.

  • NewCentral-bank statements, minutes and press conferences

Statements and minutes with parsed facts and sentence-level differences from the previous one, and live press-conference transcripts.

  • Neweconfeed for AI agents

A remote MCP server for Claude and other MCP clients, each caller with its own key, plus GET /v1/changes for polling and llms.txt.
